Building the Skills Before Conflict Happens

Restorative practice works best when students already have the skills to reflect, communicate, and regulate their emotions. Open Parachute’s Tier 1 lessons build these foundations across the whole school, helping students develop the language and confidence to navigate conflict more constructively.

Supporting Restorative Conversations

When conflict does occur, targeted lessons and educator guidance help students slow down, understand what happened, consider the impact on others, and take part in conversations focused on accountability, repair, and moving forward.

Trauma-Informed Restorative Practice

Restorative practice is most effective when students feel safe enough to reflect, communicate, and take responsibility. Open Parachute’s trauma-informed approach helps educators understand how stress and adversity can influence behavior, while maintaining clear expectations around accountability and repair.

Educator Training to Support Restorative Justice Practices

Professional learning helps educators create the conditions for restorative practice by strengthening their confidence in difficult conversations, emotional regulation, relationship-building, and supporting students through conflict and repair.
