A preventative mental health curriculum for students, educators & families featuring authentic peer voices
When I saw that kids had the same experiences as me, it made me feel heard and helped me to know that I'm not alone in anything in my life, and it made me feel comfortable.
Jesse, Grade 5
Roosevelt Elementary School
The kids really learned that they’re not alone. And talking to them, you can realize that they feel like their voices are being heard.
Tibor Budai, Grade 8 Teacher
Moody Middle School
Open Parachute has now taught me how to start a conversation and accept each other's feelings and even express them.

Our Mission
Our mission at Open Parachute is to create generational change by teaching a skill set that supports youth mental health and well-being.
Our Unique Approach
How do we do this? Through the Being Well Model™
The Being Well Model™ underpins all our lessons and teaches students a skill set for responding in helpful ways rather than reacting in unhelpful ways when they are stressed, frustrated, or overwhelmed.

Real Peer Role Models!
No scripts, no actors, just inspiring stories
The foundation of Open Parachute is built on documentary videos of real youth with lived experience sharing their authentic stories of growth and change. These peer stories help students grasp concepts quicker and practice skills faster, giving them more brain power for their academics.

Mental Health vs Well-Being
Most programs stop at well-being. That's only half the story.
Well-being skills are like a map & compass, they're great everyday tools which focus on things like breathing and emotion regulation. But when students face real challenges, that's not enough. Mental health skills are like an emergency beacon, designed to fortify students for big challenges. These skills allow students to work through emotions, understand stress responses, and recognize and change patterns. We teach both. Because students need both.
